It says "...features Peavey's legendary low-noise..." , but adds a little bit noise when used in +/- 12 dB mode, the noise is gone when used in 6 dB mode. Its an average product, and is cheap. I have used the Behringer 3102, maybe i would have gone for that product instead with its feedback detection system. Anyway, its an okay product, but i may not buy it again..Bought this to replace an older very scratchy peavey eq on my FOH run. Don't know if I got a bad one or what but right out of the box this thing adds so much white noise to the signal I might as well be using a noise generator. When all sliders are set to middle (flat), the hiss is terrible. And get this, when I cut the lows from 100hz and lower down, the hiss actually gets louder. Huh? Both channels do the same thing.Sorry Peavey but this thing's a dud and I returned it. I have 3 Behringer 3102's I use on my monitor runs and those things are dead silent. Looks like I'm getting another 3102 for the mains.
.I just bought the Peavey PV 231EQ on 02/04/2011 and put it in my rack. I'm in the process of rewiring the whole set-up with some custom cables. Tonight I finished and tested all of them and when i powered it all up there was a very bad humm being produced so so I started the process of elimination and found it was caused by the EQ. lifting the ground didn't work and either. Its now a week later and today is the first time powered it up. I only had 3 days to return it so gotta find a nees for a noisy EQ
.Just bought this graphic eq... its quite cheap but performs great, clean sounding. The controls are a little bit hard to adjust, not very smooth. Would have been nice if they were LED illuminated or maybe a feedback detecting circuit could have been included. The high pass and low pass filters are quite useful. For this price, you wont find a better eq.
