Product Description
The Jim Dunlop Joe Bonamassa Signature Cry Baby Wah guitar effects pedal is a vital piece of his tone arsenal. Whether he's blazing through the blues on his own or rocking with Black Country Communion, Joe Bonamassa's playing is fiery, deep and powerful. When he really wants to express himself in a solo, he steps on a Cry Baby wah.
Dunlop worked with Joe to develop the Joe Bonamassa Signature Cry Baby, specially engineered to fit in perfectly with Joe's system, from the way it looks to the way it sounds. On the outside, it sports a classy copper top with a smooth-finish black body. On the inside, it features large, vintage-style thru-hole components, a Halo inductor (for added harmonic content), an output buffer (to prevent impedance imbalance with vintage fuzz pedals), and a switch for true-bypass or non-true-bypass operation (Joe prefers non-True Bypass as it darkens the high end). With its huge vocal sweep range, this is one of the most expressive Cry Babys ever, and it's Joe's tool of choice to accentuate every soulful bend and bluesy wail. "The first pedal I ever purchased was a Cry Baby, 25 years ago," he says. "I am so honored to have my name on this pedal and hope it brings you as much fun as it brings me every night on stage."
Now you can get Joe Bonamassa' wah sound. Order today.

I had two wah pedals before; the EVH and the Custom Audio Electronics, both of which convinced me I was not a wah guy. After playing a tome of classic rock lately I decided to try another one. The Bonamassa caught my eye because it looked really cool, and I was impressed with the audio samples. I bought it and was happy with it and, at first, thought that although it did have a bit of limited sweep, it still sounded great. The reason for the limited sweep was that the try bypass switch was off, but once you open it up and turn it on, HELLO!!!! I am now a huge fan of the wah, and I can't stop using it. You know, I really know next to nothing about Bonamassa, but this pedal is sure is an impressive one, enough to convert someone who swore off them. Perhaps I will give him a listen.Dunlop Joe Bonamassa Signature Cry Baby Wah Guitar Effects Pedal
.First off, this by far, is the best crybaby to buy. Sleek design, great sound and very responsive.
The Crybaby was the first effects pedal introduced to me when I started playing. The pedal I had previously been using was a Crybaby Classic with a red fasel inductor. It was a good pedal but I felt the sweep, for as big as it was, was limited unlike the JB wah. While the JB wahs sweep is short, its very vocal and gives you amazing dynamics in tone which is what I was looking for. It doesnt take much to change the sound. Unlike my Crybaby Classic whic had to be rocked from heel to toe before it made a large difference.
In conclusion I honestly can't believe there are people on here that said the pedal had a bad sweep. The sweep is different yes, but if you learn how to use it correctly there's no limitation. Not to mention there are plenty of people that buy things and dont know how to work them. Example the true bypass/non-true bypass function. If people would do research on the pedal they'd know it automatically comes in the non-true bypass mode. So you dont need to have a label on the switch for which is which.
In the end, this pedal is great, I definitly recommend this to anyone, Bonamassa fan or not. Its truly a great pedal.

.This was the first wah pedal that I didn't have to adjust. It sounded great right out of the box. I have an original VOX, that I don't take to gigs any more, and my Budda Wah sounds good, but is missing something. As soon as I plugged the Bonamassa Wah in and started to play with it, I was reminded of the VOX. Sounds great left on and cocked, I used it with a Tone Bender and got a great Mick Ronson sound. The copper and black color really makes it stand out. Great Wah for a great price.

.So far the tone is very good. The only 2 issues I have is the stroke of the pedal is only about 1 inch . You don't have as much room on the sweep as you would with other brands like MORLEY, BUDDA, FULL TONE, ETC. But this being designed toward blues player Joe Bonamassa maybe this is what they were trying for. Don't get me wrong the sound is Great but the Wah stroke is short. The other issue is the engage switch. If the pedal is on a hard surface theres on problems, but if the pedals on a carpet or a rug, pressing on the pedal to engage the switch can be difficult. The switch should have been mounted on the side. Put it on your pedalboard and this should be no issue.

.I received this a month after ordering it from MF. I placed it in front of both Bad Monkey overdrive and a MXR Distortion plus. My amp was a 1979 Silverface Fender Twin with a Fender Stratocaster as my guitar. I could get a lot of harmonics out of the wah. I found myself in touch with my inner Steve Vai doing the laughing sounds from "Yankee Rose." I never had a wah that did that before with me. Very good sounding wah. I love the look of the unit. My only complaint that the unit does not have a LED to see if it is on or off. However, I recommend this unit if you are looking for a great wah.

.ONE OF MY FAVORITE PEDALS TO USE, VERY RESPONSIVE, LOVE IT

.I have played the Dunlop GCB95 Original Wah Wah for a very long time and have recently become a fan of Joe Bonamassa and his guitar playing, tones, etc. I am glad I switched to this Crybaby, in my opinion it is a very expressive pedal with rich tones. I had taken the crybaby out of my pedaltrain for months because I didn't care for the sound anymore, but this new Bonammassa wah pedal rocks!!
Dunlop Joe Bonamassa Signature Cry Baby Wah Guitar Effects Pedal
.Very nice sounding wah; just barely beat out the Jerry Cantrell for me because it's a little brighter sounding. Vocal, even response with emphasis on mids/highs which I desired. Two slight problems: actually TOO easy to click on and off, you might disengage it by accident. And, my daisy chain hookups won't fit in the deeply recessed power supply outlet (only the actual power supply or a 9 volt will power it)

.The sweep is so short you really have to work at getting the sound you want and there is a VERY abrupt cutoff roughly halfway through the range of motion. Heel down creates a bassy harmonic that is, to me at least, useless. I didn't read the book but there is no intuitive way to know if you are in true bypass or not, and no LED lights to tell you either! With an OD pedal this wah is awesome, but you really have to watch your motion or you lose the awesomeness fast. Without an OD, it is nothing special. I sent it back. Way too much money for what you get IMO.

.Never Played Professionally but I have played on and off for 25 years. I know what I like. I don't hate this pedal it is just not worth the money.
It has very limited range, the built in wah on my Line VI switcher has more range.
It has no LED's and no really audible click so you can't tell when it is on. When you go for that big solo and get no effect it kind of leaves you flat and embarrassed.
It would be Ok if cost about $60. I coughed up the $10 return shipping and am ordering the Dunlop 535QC Chrome Cry Baby Wah Pedal. From reviews and recommendations it appears to be much more bang for the buck. Same Price!
