Action and neck are what you would expect on a 12 string. Robust. Nice piercing sound. In terms of value and durability, I don't think any other maker can beat it. Good quality on board electronics. It does require a little more frequent tuning than other guitars I own, and I suspect that reflects the quality of the tuners.

.I've owned and played Ovation 12 strings since 1968, and the Standard Balladeer Ovation 12 string is a beautiful guitar to look at and appears to be well constructed. The rosette is a little understated for my taste, compared to the older Ovations. The mahogany head and neck is gorgeous, but too heavy for the full-sized, but lightweight bowl. (When wearing a strap, the neck is out of balance with the light weight bowl,and your mind is on holding up the weight of the neck, when playing.) I use 12 strings for rhythm guitar playing in a large venue, and the .010-.047 strings are too light. While the sound is very nice and holds tune, there's not much depth of tone when playing out full. A medium gauge string would be better, but I don't know if the guitar is designed to handle the tension, and if a higher adjustment would make it uncomfortable to play.
