Electro-Harmonix Chill Switch Momentary Line Selector

The Chill Switch Momentary Line Selector is a new, utilitarian Electro-Harmonix pedal that can be used to provide instant muting. It can also be used to create interesting stutter effects by turning the instrument's signal abruptly on and off for hard rhythmic in/out transitions.

In Line Selector Mode, the scope of the Chill Switch pedal's use is only limited by your creative vision. It can, for example, be used to quickly switch in the effects loop, introducing a burst of distortion, analog delay-induced feedback, or ring modulation. The Chill Switch can also be tapped in time with what is being played to bring effects in and out of the signal path rhythmically. This is especially interesting when one of those effects is a delay with tap tempo.

The many and varied uses of the Chill Switch pedal are an open invitation for the modern player who wishes to explore the world of unorthodox sound creation and manipulation.

I bought this pedal for a very specific use - I have a phrase in a single song that needs to be in a completely different voice than the rest of the song - distortion, phase, and octave. It's impossible to hit all three at once, so BAM, this pedal makes it happen.

It's super easy to turn an effect on and off - step on for effect, take off for no effect - great for those little accent moments in a song.

It gives me the voicing I need for just a few seconds. Super useful, great utility pedal, and a lifesaver playing live.

I'm looking forward to seeing how I can use this in new ways, as the possibilities are limitless - a quick punch of distortion, a burst of delay, who knows?
