I struggled looking for the right sound for years. I play nylon strings, but few of the electric acoustics sounded right. Most either boomed or fed back and did not have the sweetness of a classical. However, once I played the Godin, I had to have one. At first I used it with a synth to keep from sounding repetitious or dull as a soloist. However, after awhile I realized that was unnecessary. The sound of the Godin is strong, sweet, yet never harsh. It "cuts" better than any guitar I have ever played. Meaning it does not take as much volume to be heard. Eight years later I am still playing it and still receiving compliments at outdoor festivals, Mexican restaurants, and small venue jazz fests on the beautiful sound of the guitar. The neck is a little narrower than a standard classical so I always practice on it a day or two before a gig. The tone is even all up and down the neck. I have never had an electronic problem or warpage, and have played the guitar on both continents. It does require a battery, so always have a back up. Don't leave the cord plugged in as I think this turns on the circuitry and reduces battery life.Godin Multiac Nylon String SA Electric Guitar High Gloss Natural
.This is an excellent nylon-string electric -- the best I've found short of a custom Kirk Sand for 4x the price. Sound and playability are superb. It's a heavy guitar, but get a wide strap because it's worth the weight. The neck is shaped like an electric guitar neck, only wider. Not the typical "2x4 with frets" that you find on most classicals. It has a radiused fingerboard and a thin profile -- very fast & comfortable to play. Even if you'll never ever use the synth, get the Synth Access model. I played this one and the Multiac Duet (same guitar with a Baggs pickup) back to back; IMO the pickup in this guitar has much better tone and clarity.Speaking of synth, the hex pickup in this guitar is better than most. Guitar synths are a mixed bag, and most of the limitations are caused by the synth units rather than the pickup. That said -- this guitar tracks somewhat better than a Roland-Ready Strat with my GR-30 synth. If you like to play nylon-string and you don't care about whether your guitar looks "traditional," this is a great choice.

.The workmanship/quality of the instrument is self-evident. It's solid, in tune, and sounds great. The unique features including the neck/fingerboard, slim body, venetian cut-away, electric out and HEX OUT are what make it so impressive. A tad easier to play than a standard Nylon String, and the layered sounds of midi instruments simply put it on a whole new level.
I emailed Godin about the need for real documentation, and they kinda blew me off. This is a serious axe, and they are not providing the detailed information, suggestions and guidelines that should accompany a professional instrument. That and a one-year warranty (also undocumented) are the only reasons I didn't give it 5 stars. The instrument is superb and deserves better.

.Got mine from a music student who had maybe played it 4-5 times. It still had all of the labels in the case. Guitar and case were in like-new condition.I wanted it because I've been working on a solo "smooth-jazz" guitar act w/ backing tracks that I worked on for 6 months or so before doing my first gig. Guitar plays beautifully, is tonally the most even electric acoustic (steel or nylon string) I've ever played. Onboard EQ is very helpful and easy to tweak. Synth control is almost as good as my Roland-ready Strat (probably more a function of the neck than anything else.) Very well made, but still a beautiful and natural sounding instrument. I wish I had two, so if I have a problem with the one I own I could switch to an exact duplicate.

.This Godin Multiac is the LIVE SOUND I've been looking for. Plugged straight into mixer and running through mains and monitors. Very balanced sound, good intonation etc. This isn't a Classical Guitar however if you're looking for a great nylon sound for live performance this is it. Cuts through the mix like a knife. I purchased a Taylor NS32-CE a year ago and it's a fine guitar as long as you're playing below the fifth fret. Intonation is poor on the Taylor from the fifth fret up but the acoustic sound of the Taylor is nice it needs a comensated saddle! You can't go wrong with Godin in fact I might be looking at other Godin models in the near future

.If you are looking for the Gibson CE/CEC sound, or even a Kirk Sand sound, this is a nice substitute, for the budget minded. I got a great recorded sound almost immediately. You can use a pick or just fingers. The scale is longer than most- and if you need to make big stretches this can be a hindrance. Other than that, a great value.

.I received this guitar a couple of weeks ago and am quite happy with it. I play finger style guitar, classical guitar, and also play in bands in various genres. This guitar is going to be a definite workhorse. It responds well to both fingerpicking and using a pick, with pleasing tone in either case. Amplifying a nylon string guitar is a difficult thing to do; much more difficult than a steel string acoustic. I was classically trained in a conservatory and am very familiar with what a concert classical should sound like. This does not sound like a concert classical, but it does a much better job in the tone department than any of the acoustic electric competition out there that I've had the pleasure of trying/owning, plus the feedback issue is very limited. The neck is a tad narrower than a standard classical and joins at the fourteenth fret as opposed to the 12th, but has the bonus of a slightly larger range (a high D). The upper register is quite user friendly, both due to the cutaway and the string height. The guitar is well built with an excellent finish.
I have another Godin which I also love, the multiac grand concert ambience which has the dual source Fishman system. That guitar sounds much better when run through my Fender tube amp than through a PA or my Carvin AG200 acoustic amp. The tube amp gives an added warmth to the pickup system that gives a rounder tone. The Multiac that I just received has the RMC pickup system and synth access (which I have not used). The Multiac sounds better through the AG200 and the PA. The RMC is very well balanced from string to string. Some years ago I had an ACS-SA Slim which had the RMC system and I also had a Roland guitar synth. The synth worked well with the system so I would think that this would as well.
