When I started shopping for a new amp head, I came down between this amp and the Ampeg Portaflex 500. I decided to go with the Fender because of all of the poor reliability issues that the Ampeg seems to have, and the generous 5 year warranty that Fender offers.I've had this amp for about 3 weeks now and have gigged it out twice in that time. In a word: Awesome! Plenty of power, sounds very nice. The 4 band preamp is capable of dialing in lots of usable tones. Even the overdrive channel is very musical rather than just a generic dirt channel. The aux in and headphone jacks are a nice touch; I like that I can play along to tunes without having to haul out a speaker cabinet.
My unit came well packed by Fender. The included carry bag seems very sturdy and thickly padded, with a good sized pouch on the front for storage of a speaker cable and a couple accessories. The small pocket on the back would work for a few sheets of sheet music and maybe some business cards. And it's so light! the 5lb weight is very nice after a 3 hour gig, and it runs very cool so you can pick it right up and throw it in its bag after a long night without worries about it getting too hot.
The one negative I will assign to this head is that the DI is post preamp only, so if you tend to make adjustments on the fly while playing a show it's going to drive your sound man nuts. No pre/post switch either. Aside from that, it's probably the best bang for the buck out there right now. If they come out with an 800 watt version of this like Ampeg did with the Portaflex series, I'll definitely be getting one.

.This is an excellent little amplifier. I have gigged it out about 2-4 times a month for the last year, plus rehearsals, and it has never given me any reason to worry about it. Solidly built, and comes with a generous 5 year warranty.
This amp has a lot of useful features. 3 selectable tone presets, a 4 band EQ, and a second Overdrive channel give me plenty of options to find the tone I'm looking for. There's a nice, baked-in warmth to this amp that gives it a lot more character than many other solid state amps I've tried, which tend to sound too sterile to me. The Aux In and Headphone Out features are nice to have as well, since they allow me to practice solo along to pre-recorded tracks from my phone or iPod without having to hook up to a speaker cab if I don't feel like it. The inclusion of a sturdy, well padded carry bag is also appreciated, and saves one a little on having to buy one separately for transport to practice and gigs.
The only complaints I really have about this amp, which kept me from giving it a 5 star rating, are the lack of Speakon jacks and the way the DI is wired. There's nothing really wrong with 1/4" outs for sending the signal out to speakers, but since the new Rumble cabs have Speakon connectors I would expect the heads to have them as well, and it would keep me from having to find new cables.
The DI is another story. It all functions fine, but because it is after the EQ section it's not really a great DI for sending a pure signal to the board when relying on front of house support. Every little knob twist you make during the show is going to effect the signal you send to the board, which will drive your sound man crazy. Better to have the DI on the head before the EQ section. Of course, since this amp has 500 watts at 4 Ohms you can drive enough speakers that you might not even need FOH support anyway.

.I bought this is a replacement for a different amp that I ordered that arrived broken. This was not my first, or even second choice. I needed an amplifier quickly, so I had them send out this one ( the one I originally ordered was out of stock). Upon arriving, I was amazed at how light weight it is. It weighs less than any amplifier head I have ever owned. It came with a nice carrying case, which is cool, and convenient for transporting it to gigs/venues.
It has three settings for the preamp: bright, contour, and vintage. It also had a drive setting. I personally really like the sound of each. This is the first bass amp I've had that I think sounds professional. It seems fragile, but I have not had any problems with it. It may just be the light weight that I don't trust.
It is very loud for its size. It's louder than my Marshall lead1960. It also cuts through drums pretty well.
It has a foot switch connection available, but I have not tried it yet.
Overall it is a very good amp. I like it a lot.
Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head
.This amp head has a very clean sound. I'm driving it through a "Kustom" bass cabinet. The original 15" speaker was rated at 150 watts @ 4 ohms. Before up-grading the cabinet, the amp ran "HOT".
I replaced the standard speaker with a "Eminence Delta - 15 LF-4 ohm" driver. 600 watts RMS - 1,200 Watts program power. The voice coil is built with aluminum windings. Its a sealed cab 2.67 cubit foot enclosure.
Now about the head. The Fender 500 Rumble - is a bridged amp. 500 Watts output at 4 ohms - 350 at 8 ohms. It has a variable speed bus fan that is thermostatic run. The overdrive circuit is most interesting. Its "Vintage" setting is what gives it a super tone. However, the "Bright" setting is clean, the "Contour" is a setting all by itself. If you want a simple, clean tone, and easy to use amp, with not a lot of frills - this is the one. Also, it comes with a GREAT carrying bag with 2 zipper compartments.
To conclude: I'm using my 1964 Fender Jazz bass. The amp really makes it sound super. Remember, that your system is as only good as the speaker(s) that you run it through. DON'T CHEAP on this end of your system! You will regret it!

.This purchase is worth the money. Great sounding powerful amp. The quality is quite good as well. I had an Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 that I returned because I loved the sound of this Amp way more. For me, this gets me my sound without messing around so much with eq. I can almost instantly get that Fat Marcus Miller type sound with my Fender Jazz 5 deluxe. It came with a great quality soft case that offers good protection and portability. Very powerful, 500 watts, I run this with 4 10's or a 2x 10 cabinet with a 1x15 and the sound is outstanding. Clear lows, mids, and Hi's, The voicing buttons are very usable as well. The only gripe I have is that the DI output is post EQ only. Other than that, you cannot go wrong. Custom Guitars Friend return policy makes it hard not to try it out. See for yourself you won't be sorry you did.

.I decided to downgrade cost wise from Aguilar ToneHammer 500/Aguilar DB112 to this little amp with a Rumble 115 cab and received it yesterday from MF.
WHAT A SOUND!! I am not sure but I was just unable to get that sound from the Aguilar amp and the cab (maybe because it was just a 12 inch speaker cab), but I am presently surprised by this amp/cab performs. I love the sounds I can get out of it and the bottom is just phenomenal. I use it at home only but I am pretty sure my neighbors hated me last night :)
Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head
.I am a weekend gigging musician, Lugging my GK 410 cab and 1001RB head is overkill for my small to medium gigs, not to mention a back breaker for this aging musician. I needed something light, powerful and simple, I tried the Ampeg PF 500, nice but my first one stopped working, so I thought I would try the new RUMBLE 500W Bass Amp Head. (5 year warranty!!) So far so good, Very versatile. I can dial in a warm and round tone to aggressive and modern. The vintage setting sounds amazing with my PBass. I bought the matching 210 cabinet. The cab and head look cool and sound great together, Also, another plus for me is that the rig is very compact, it fit's nicely in the back of my hatchback :) I plan on buying the Rumble 115 cab. Tone is always subjective to the player, for me, this set up works very well.
Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head
.I set up the head with Peavey 4-10's and this monster was awesome. I was using a Peavey Combo 300 Bass Head that I removed from it's speaker case. This Rumble does exactly what the name says Rumble! I'm still working to get the right sound I want. The adjustments are easy to work with, It's just I like the right sound. I can't find nothing to complain about. I've been a Peavey man all my life. For 46 years I've been playing on Peavey Instruments and Amps. If you want a great sound, Light Bass Head, and easy to adjust, unless your picky like me, then this head is for you. BUY IT!!!
